Hildegard Von Bingen was a lot of things in her day, making advancements in everything from literature to science. Being the first to introduce hops into beer as a preservative in the year 1151, she essentially laid the foundation for how beer would be made for years to come. This Bavarian-style lager has been aged in local Chardonnay barrels and brewed with secret botanicals, creating a robust and floral experience. An inventor of her own language, we combined Hildegard's words for Mother and Hops to bring you this brilliant beverage. The beverage industry has struggled with gender representation and equality since its conception. Women are often marginal when it comes to positions in production such as brewing, winemaking and distilling. Cue pink boots, a national organization dedicated to raising the interest of ladies curious about pursuing a career in fermented beverage production. Every year, local professionals collaborate on a beer that pays homage to women in the industry; past, present and future. |
