F/O Bob Upcott of Windsor, Ontario was the pilot of a 101 Squadron crew during WWII. At the end of the war, Uppcott and his crew were tasked with dropping food supplies to the starving population of Holland. This inspired a ripple effect with allied forces dropping over 11,000 tons of food throughout the country. The crew referred to any Lancaster they flew in as "Bad Penny", a superstition borne from the popular phrase, "Like a bad penny, it always turns up". In later years, Canadian Aviation Museum dedicated a Lancaster bomber, FM212 an exhibit to their story. Today, we dedicate a beer.
